Why this car: Panian said her family has always been defined by the automotive industry. Panian grew up in Orchard Lake, his father owned several businesses in cars and both parents worked for his Chevrolet. "The automotive industry is in my blood," he said.
That said, when Panian decided to build a car he wanted something different. Focusing the attention of traditional hot rods and lead sleds, Panian found what he calls a "sweet spirit" on eBay.com 1953 Chevy that had been sitting in a barn for over 20 years. "It took two wreckers to convince her it was time to live again."
Over the next six years, Panian and his friends worked to restore the car, which has now been chopped 4 1 / 2 inches, painted in matte black, has a customized interior and is powered by a motor ZZ502.
"I am very happy to have my dream cruiser," he said.
