Impact Wrestling begins their program by showing Kurt Angle walk towards the ring. He calls out Hogan, wanting “to end this once and for all”. Hogan then shows up to greet Angle, after posing for 30 seconds on his way to the ring. Angle then calls him and Bischoff, scumbags who lead Immortal. He then reiterates that he will beat Sting for the TNA Title. He then claims that once he beats him, that he’ll be “the best in the world”, a claim that has been going around lately. He then asks Hogan if he knew how that felt.

Hogan then grandstands and boasts that he already knows what it’s like to be the best in the world. He goes on a diatribe that starts with the claim that he has carried the pro wrestling business on his back. The promo largely consisted of Hogan relying heavily on his age and experience to end his promo by telling Angle that he had a vision for a higher level that Angle would create, which would mean a bigger paycheck for everyone.

Angle then cuts in and says that Hogan has it all wrong. Angle then states that he respects him, otherwise he’d kick his ass. He would go on to say that he’d pay to see Hogan because he was the best. But now, his name means something else entirely. Hogan interjected Angle’s speech, and warned him that he entered dangerous territory. Hogan again brings up his age, and he made a choice, and that he chose quality of life. He declares that Angle has to beat Sting because Hogan is uncertain that if Angle can do this, and has gone even further to question his win at the 1996 Olympics.

Angle retorts with saying that he lit a fire under him. He states that he knows that Hogan can still go, and went to tell him that Hogan should be the one to take out Sting. He ends the segment by saying that every great warrior has one last fight in them, and told him to prove it and to not call him to do his job for him again.

Meanwhile, Eric Bischoff is backstage talking on the cell phone, saying that he arrived late because his plane was delayed. Shortly thereafter, a woman hands Bischoff an envelope from The Network, which prompted Bischoff to utter “pain in the ass” after realizing its sender.

Rob Van Dam versus Gunner (Bound for Glory Series Match): Gunner starts the match by manhandling RVD into the corner. RVD attempts for a comeback but eats an Oklahoma Slam for his troubles. He attempts to make a comeback, but Gunner seems to stop him every time. RVD then scores a Van Daminator. Gunner quickly wrestles control, until RVD executes a springboard kick and scores a Rolling Thunder thereafter.
