Sample culinary creations of 11 Market Square eateries
Eleven Market Square eateries are cooking up a way to help a group that's dedicated to preventing teen pregnancy.
Knox Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Initiative will offer its second annual "Samples on the Square" fundraiser 6-9 p.m. Thursday.
A $50 ticket gets you selected specialties from 11 restaurants, as well as discounts from some other Market Square businesses.
What's on the menu? Chicken taquitos from Blue Coast Burrito; gnocchi in Gorgonzola walnut sage sauce from Bella Luna; Low Country shrimp and grits tapas from Cafe 4; Cuban pork with white rice and black beans from Cocoa Moon; red wine-glazed beef medallion with Yukon Gold potato galette and mushroom confit from Latitude 35; sun-dried tomato and roasted garlic hummus, with green apple and warm flatbread, from Oodles Uncorked; California roll with fresh crab, cucumber and avocado, and crunchy shrimp roll with tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber and spicy sauce, from Shonos in City; baked potato salad with bacon and special seasoning from Steamboat; Goin' Green salad from Trio; Fudge Brownie Blendini with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups from Rita's; and a premium ice-cream scoop with one topping from Marble Slab.
More than 60 agencies are part of Kappa nonprofit that promotes abstinence, self-respect and responsible decision making.
